WORK WITH US

As functional medicine practitioners we delve into the triggers, mediators, and antecedents that shed light on the reasons contributing to your symptoms and ill health.

You do not need a referral from your doctor to book an appointment with one of our practitioners as we are a private functional medicine clinic. We will be happy to liaise with your GP if we need to organise testing or to help you obtain a copy of your existing test results.

We offer a 3 and 6 month package, with appointments typically scheduled every 3 to 4 weeks to enable us to dig deep into your medical history and providing you with regular contact, support and accountability. A package allows us to fully engage with you with the functional medicine experience.

Please contact us to discuss your unique circumstances, find out if we are a good fit to work together and to decide which package is best suited to your needs.

URGENT APPOINTMENTS: Please email hello@autoimmunecliniclondon.com and we will do our best to accommodate.

THE PROCESS

What to expect when working with us

Unlike your 10 min appointment with your GP or specialist where you try to share as much information as you can but only end up leaving unheard and frustrated, we take time before, during and after your appointments to understand your case, leaving no stones unturned until we have reached your health goals.

BEFORE YOUR INITIAL CONSULTATION

We ask you to complete and submit the following forms no later than 2 working days prior to your appointment:

  • a new client questionnaire

  • a 3 or 5 day food and symptom diary

  • a symptom questionnaire.

We may ask you to complete additional forms relating to brain function depending on the nature of your symptoms.

We ask that you share a copy of existing test results and investigation reports for the past 24 months.

Your practitioner will take time to go through your information before your appointment to familiarise themselves with your case.

DURING YOUR INITIAL CONSULTATION

The initial appointment is the longest appointment and lasts 90 minutes to 2 hours, depending on your needs and how much we need to discuss.

During this time we dive deep into your personal health story and medical history.

Areas we may cover include diet, lifestyle, infections, environmental exposures (past and present), your family health history, stress, etc...

We start connecting the dots for you to understand your health picture better. This is often a fascinating conversation for people with a few lightbulb moments.

We may revisit your existing results together and how they fit into the picture.

We agree on an action plan moving forward and we determine whether any conventional or functional medicine tests are necessary, and if so, identify the most suitable ones for your specific case.

You receive your initial treatment plan within 3 working days, which may include dietary, supplement and lifestyle recommendations, as well as details on the tests we discussed. We may provide supporting documents for guidance if appropriate.

We help you organise private tests that we agreed on.

We may also need to write to your GP to requests tests that are available on the NHS at no costs (we always seek your permission before contacting your GP).

FOLLOW UP APPOINTMENT(S)
Untitled design.png

These appointments are either 45 or 60 minutes long and are scheduled every 3 to 4 weeks, or as needed

During this time, we review test results, translate all the scientific data into plain English so you have a clear understanding of what the tests mean, and explain how they fit into your health picture.

We review your progress and amend your treatment plan accordingly.

Follow up appointments are needed to continue to build on the foundations that we put in place, to keep you motivated, on track and engaged with the process.

From experience, we see more successful outcomes when individuals are committed to a series of appointment over a period of time to achieve real long lasting improvement in their symptoms and condition.

PLEASE NOTE: We are sorry that we are not able to assist you if you have a current cancer diagnosis and receiving treatment, if you have a diagnosis of chronic kidney disease or if you are suffering from disordered eating.

If you are unsure whether we can help you or not, we recommend that you email us and we will be happy to assist.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you take private medical insurance?

We do not directly work with private health insurances. However you may want to check your policy details with your insurance as they may cover nutritional therapy. If that is the case, you will need to claim our fees back directly with your insurance.

Have you worked with someone with my condition before?

Whilst we understand why you are asking this question, and chances are we have worked with someone sharing the same diagnosis as yours, it is important to understand that we practice with the Functional Medicine model. What this means is that two people could be sharing the same diagnosis, but the underlying mechanisms and triggers contributing to their disease are different.

Unlike the conventional medicine approach, we look for the root cause(s) of what is causing illness and symptoms to reduce your symptoms and improve your overall health.

How long will I need your support for?

We get asked this question a lot and our answer is, it is hard to tell before we start. Symptoms are not the start of chronic disease.

Chronic diseases don't typically manifest suddenly; rather, they develop gradually over years, if not decades. Therefore, expecting to feel well and healthy within a matter of days or weeks would be unrealistic.

However, it's important to note that many individuals respond exceptionally well to even minor interventions, and most people do experience improvements in their symptoms within a few weeks or less. Naturally, your response will depend on various factors and your unique circumstances.

We offer a 3 and 6 month package. Based on our experience, we have observed an higher rate of success when engaging with our clients through a series of appointments over a period of time. This approach offers consistent contact, ongoing support, and fosters accountability to help our clients stay on track. At the end of your package, additional single consultations or a a follow up package can be added on as required.

Many of our long-term clients choose to check in with us every 6 to 12 months, when their physiology changes or if they require support during unexpected flare-ups.

What are the additional costs outside of the package fees?

This varies from case to case. Please note that our package fees do not cover any testing or supplements.

If additional testing beyond what you may already have from your GP or specialist is needed, we will request your doctor to arrange these tests for us, provided they are available through the NHS at no cost to you. Alternatively, we might recommend functional tests that are exclusively offered by private laboratories. We may also suggest supplements as part of your treatment plan, and we will explain our reasons for considering them.

It's important to emphasise that we always take your financial situation into consideration, and there is absolutely no pressure for you to commit to additional expenses. We are experienced in working with individuals from various financial backgrounds and working within limited budgets.

Please note: We are unable to discuss tests and supplements via email or over the phone prior to your initial appointment and until we have taken a comprehensive history of your case.

Do I need to be referred by my doctor to make an appointment?

You do not need a referral and you are welcome to book your initial appointment with us via this website. We will ask you to share your existing test results and complete some forms prior to your appointment so we can familiarise ourselves with your case.

If you are unsure whether or not you should book an appointment with us, feel free to email us on hello@autoimmunecliniclondon.com and we will be happy to assist.

Do you offer single appointments?

At this present time we are offering a 3 and a 6 month package. We may in special circumstances offer a one off consultation and we would encourage you to contact us to discuss your needs. Please email hello@autoimmunecliniclondon.com to discuss further.

White Sand and Stone
Is it time to finally invest in your health?

Autoimmune diseases typically do not manifest overnight. It often takes years, if not decades, for individuals to receive a diagnosis from the onset of their initial symptoms. Reversing autoimmunity is typically a gradual process that requires time and consistent effort and we will be here to support you through this process.

In our experience, we have observed the most successful outcomes when working with clients who are dedicated and prioritising themselves.

Our packages are designed to support you by keeping you on track, motivated, and accountable throughout your journey towards improved health.

Don't let good health be a luxury, make it your priority.
